Oathaess | Fine Art Photography | Greg Selby
Oathaess was made from completely behind the wave — fully submerged, looking up and through the face as it passed overhead. The water at Bermagui on the Sapphire Coast is so clear that the sandy floor glows gold and green below, and the treeline and blue sky are visible through the wave above, as if the ocean were made of glass.
Most wave photographs are made from the outside. This one is made from inside the moment — a perspective that takes years of time in the water to understand, anticipate, and be ready for. It is a view almost no one sees, and fewer still can hold long enough to photograph.
The colours are extraordinary because they are real. That gold is the sand. That green is the water. That blue is the sky. Nothing has been added.
For interiors that want something genuinely rare. A view of the ocean that most people will never see in person.
Printed to museum-quality archival standards using premium pigment inks. Available on Satin Paper, Matte Paper, Framed Canvas, or Glass.
Artist's Quiet Thoughts
This shot didn’t happen by accident. It happened because I’ve spent years in the ocean learning how it moves, where the light goes, and exactly when to be still. — Greg Selby
