Illior | Fine Art Photography | Greg Selby
Illior was made on one of those rare days when everything cooperates. The sky is clear and deep blue. The swell is clean. And the wave a full, perfectly formed barrel holds its shape long enough to be seen properly.
The colour is the story. Shot from water level with the sun behind and above, the light passes through the face of the wave and turns it a deep olive green rich, saturated, almost luminous. The lip is white and sharp against the blue sky. The water in the foreground is dark and textured. Everything in the frame is doing exactly what it should.
This is a wave photograph for people who understand what they’re looking at. The geometry of a clean barrel. The quality of light that only exists for a fraction of a second before the wave breaks and it’s gone.
For interiors that want colour and form in equal measure. The ocean at its most composed.
Printed to museum-quality archival standards using premium pigment inks. Available on Satin Paper, Matte Paper, Framed Canvas, or Glass.
Artist's Quiet Thoughts
Some days the ocean just gives you one. Clean sky, clean swell, clean light. You don’t ask questions. — Greg Selby
