Iasukoh | Ocean | Coastal Decor | Wall Art Print | Greg Selby

Iasukoh was made on the South Coast on a day when the ocean was doing something that felt less like surf and more like theatre. A single wave rose out of the grey water, isolated and monumental, the crest building to a dramatic peak before exploding into white spray that curled and fractured against a pale, washed-out sky. The form is unmistakable to anyone who has spent time with Japanese woodblock prints the name is not an accident.

Hokusai's Great Wave has endured for two centuries because it captured something true about the ocean its scale, its indifference, its capacity to become something almost architectural in the right conditions. Iasukoh is not a reference or a homage. It is the same truth, found again on the Coast with a camera instead of a brush, in a moment that lasted less than a second and has not repeated itself since.

The wave is alone in the frame. The sky offers nothing. The ocean around it is dark and restless. And yet the wave rises, peaks, and breaks with complete authority, as if it has always known exactly what it was doing.

For spaces that want something with cultural resonance and genuine presence. The ocean as it has always been, ancient, powerful, and entirely its own.

Printed to museum-quality archival standards using premium pigment inks. Available on Satin Paper, Matte Paper, Framed Canvas, or Glass.

Artist's Quiet Thoughts

Hokusai saw it first. The ocean has been making the same wave ever since. — Greg Selby
