Ellestrea was made in the early morning, when the light is still finding its way and the ocean hasn’t yet decided what colour it wants to be. The wave carries it all, rich blue across the face, deep and saturated, the kind of tone that only exists for a short window before the sun climbs too high and bleaches everything out.
Behind it, the clouds have gathered. Not threatening, not dramatic just present, adding weight to the sky and contrast to the glow on the water below. The morning light catches the surface at an angle that makes the blue luminous, almost electric.
