Desistance was shot from the clifftop, looking straight down. On a day that was bright and clear, the ocean surface below was black not from storm, not from cloud, just the deep, cold dark of open water seen from above, absorbing the light rather than reflecting it.
Not a clean break. A full detonation spray shooting upward, the entire face collapsing at once in a wall of white against that black water. The contrast is absolute. Dark ocean, white chaos, and nothing gentle about any of it.
Shot from elevation, the perspective flattens the drama into something almost graphic. There is no horizon, no beach, no reference point just the event itself, isolated against the dark surface below. Enormous and indifferent.
