Avior | Surf & Coastal Decor | Greg Selby
Avior was made from water level on the Sapphire coast as a large swell moved through under a sky that couldn’t decide between storm and sunrise. The wave is a deep, saturated teal fully formed, the lip throwing over with force, spray lifting off the lip and catching the warm golden-grey light breaking through the clouds behind it. The result is a photograph that is simultaneously raw and luminous, the kind of light that only exists when weather and ocean arrive at the same time.
This is a wave that surfers recognise immediately. The barrel is open and fast, the face clean, the whole thing moving with the kind of energy that the Sapphire Coast delivers when a Southern Ocean swell hits the right bank at the right tide. But the light turns it into something more a wave that belongs on a wall as much as in a surf film.
For spaces that want both energy and atmosphere. The ocean at full power, lit from behind by a sky that showed up at exactly the right moment.
