Atreus | Coastal Decor Print | Greg Selby
Atreus was made at water level on the South Coast, looking across at a wave that was still deciding. The barrel is forming the lip just beginning to throw, the face a deep teal-green, backlit by a pale blue sky that turns the water luminous from behind. The surface in the foreground is dark and textured, carrying the energy of everything that built this wave across open ocean.
There is a stillness to this photograph that is deceptive. The wave is not still, it is at the precise moment before release, holding its shape for one more fraction of a second. The light behind it makes the water glow in a way that only happens on the Sapphire Coast, where the clarity of the water and the quality of the morning light arrive together.
It is a photograph about patience and presence. About being low in the water, reading the swell, and being ready when the wave does what it was always going to do.
For interiors that want the ocean at its most composed. Power held quietly, light doing the work.
Printed to museum-quality archival standards using premium pigment inks. Available on Satin Paper, Matte Paper, Framed Canvas, or Glass.
Artist's Quiet Thoughts
The Sapphire Coast light does something to the water that I haven’t found anywhere else. This is what I mean. — Greg Selby
